Mrs. Pansy Dipuma, age 98, only 18 days short of the age of 99 met Jesus face to face on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.  Her visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2022 from 11am-1pm at Ott & Lee in Morton.  Chapel services will be held 1pm Monday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton.  Burial will follow at Sims Hill Cemetery with Bro. Reggie Tatum officiating.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Pansy was born in Lake, MS on January 27, 1923.  She was and still is a beautiful soul.  Pansy was the best examples of how to love the simple things in life and see the beauty in it.  She loved going places, especially Louisiana, garage sales, looking at plantations, sightseeing and loved riding the rides at the State Fair.  When the Choctaw Indian Fair came, she was always eager to go.   If you knew her, you knew she loved her cats.  She kept them fed and watered and at one time she probably had around 30 plus cats.  Pansy worked at B.C. Rogers for many years and walked to and from work in the rain, sleet or snow and then came home and cooked supper for her family and made sure they had decent clothes for school the next day.  She always did for others before she did for herself.  If you ever came to her house, you knew there was always a stove and table full of food cooked.  She enjoyed socializing and having friends come over and always wanted them to be full when they left.

Most people around know her as Nanny Pansy.  She kept kids for around 43 years at her home.  And then she kept some kids from the ones she raised earlier.  Pansy always cooked the children a home cooked meal and loved them like her own.  Some even wanted to spend the nights with her instead of going home with their parents because she loved and spoiled them so much.  She never had to raise her voice for the children to mind her, she just had that gentle touch and they knew she respected and loved them and they did the same with her.

When she was able, she loved going to church.  Pansy loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible when her eyesight let her.

There are so many things that can be said about this beautiful soul, but I think this sums it up about Pansy Dipuma, which is written by her granddaughter, Holly Alise Bradshaw Edmonson, “One of the most peaceful things to rest upon is that her children and grandchildren know Jesus and we will all meet again because of our relationship with Christ.  Because she showed Jesus’ love to her children, they showed Jesus’ love to their own and now we also know Jesus’ love and that will continue with all the rest of the generations.”
