Patricia Ann Armendarez, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 2, 2025.
Patricia was born on December 8, 1964, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Carmel and Rosa Armendarez. She thought God gave her the best parents in the world.
Ms. Armendarez graduated from Hobbs High School in 1982 and soon after began a career in sales and management. She had a passion for retail/ merchandising and spent many hard-working years employed by Wal-Mart, JC Penny’s, and other retail stores in Hobbs as a department manager. Her astonishing marketing/management skills did not go unnoticed when she won a contest for her eye-catching fun displays at JC Penny’s. This gave her the opportunity to visit the Regional JC Penny’s Corporate office in Dallas, Tx.
Patricia had a fun- loving and comical personality. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms. You would often catch her singing, dancing, and telling elaborate stories. She loved Jesus and His mother the Virgin Mary, praying “Chaplet of Divine Mercy,” going to the movies, decorating for the holidays, her dogs Miri and J-Quita, taking trips (especially Ruidoso), fishing, bargain shopping and music. To know her was to know her love for Elton John. She was his number one fan and would love to talk about the time she got to see him in concert, and he pointed at her.
Patricia also loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cracking jokes and creating nicknames for everyone. She loved her children Cene and Michael. Always supporting their passions and aspirations by dressing up in costume and reading books to her daughter’s students or showing up with pride to her son’s music performances and shows.
She was also a loving grandmother (Mamo/Mimo) to her “Baby Bear” Jaiden (Cene) and “Princess” Sophia (Michael). Her face lit up with joy when they were in her presence.
Patricia is survived by her parents Carmel and Rosa Armendarez of Hobbs, New Mexico, two brothers; Henry Armendarez (Veronica) of Lubbock, Texas, Bill Armendarez (Migda) of Hobbs, New Mexico, one sister; Linda Armendarez of Jal, New Mexico, one daughter; Cene Terrazas (Mike) of Midland, Texas, one son; Michael Armendarez of Hobbs, New Mexico, one grandson; Lance Cpl. Christopher Jaiden Terrazas of Okinawa, Japan (USMC), one granddaughter; Sophia Bryelle Armendarez of Hobbs, New Mexico, and many nieces/great nieces, nephews/great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Patricia is preceded in death by her grandparents, Julio and Maria Armendarez and Teofilo Sr. and Catarina Gonzales.
Ms. Armendarez will be missed by many. She was like the sun that had a fierce and unique glow that will forever shine in our hearts. May her unforgettable character remain with us always.
