Jose G. "Lupe" Armendarez

Jose G. "Lupe" Armendarez, 77 years old, of Borger, Texas, passed peacefully in his sleep while family sat at his bedside ending his two-year battle with cancer on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Pampa, at his nieces' home. He was born on February 17, 1947, in Melchor Ocampo Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Reymundo Armendarez and Manuela Ramos.
Lupe attended and graduated from school in Mexico before moving to Houston for several years then moving to the Borger and Pampa area in 1976 where he resided throughout the remainder of his life. He began working for Fish, then Austin and then Zachery and after 35 years with them, he retired, but if you knew Lupe, you know he never really retired as he couldn't help but work. He never sat still and even his hobbies were odds and ends jobs such as brick laying, concrete masonry work and general handyman or carpentry jobs.
When he wasn't working, Lupe was generally a rather quiet man, however, he was very passionate and caring. If he had something to give someone in need, he would – including the shirt off his back to help lighten another's load or despair. His kind and loving nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alfonza Jazo and a brother, Isidro Armendarez.
He leaves to remember his loving spirit and cherish his memories are his siblings, Lucio Armendarez of Borger, Flavio Armendarez of Houston, Rumaldo Armendarez of Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Ramona Balderas, Valentina Cancino both of Houston; his caregiver and special niece, Ana Balderrama and husband Felipe of Pampa; a special friend, Miguel Munoz of Borger and many nieces and nephews in the Houston area.
Lupe will be available to pay respects on Saturday, August 24th from 2 until 8pm in the Woodhaven state room, Sunday, 25th from 1 until 8pm with a rosary being recited at 6pm and again Monday, 26th from 9am until 8pm in the Serenity Chapel.
Celebration of Life Funeral Vigil will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:00 am, in Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel with Father Guadalupe Mayorga officiating.
