It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Boedeker, who left us on May 5, 2025. Born on December 9, 1938, in Chicago, IL, Patricia lived a fulfilling life marked by her creative, witty, and loving nature. After moving from her birthplace, she was raised in Ridgewood, NJ, spent her college years in Boston and ultimately settled in Simsbury, CT in 1967, where she lived until 2021. Patricia then moved to reside in Attleboro, Massachusetts to be near her family, where she spent her remaining years.
Patricia was a dedicated town clerk and served her community faithfully. She was an active member of the Simsbury Historical Society, the Cloud Appreciation Society and a proud member of the League of Women's Voters. An alumna of Simmons College, Patricia was a lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity about the world. Outside of her professional life, Patricia was an excellent cook, an avid reader, particularly of world and U.S. history, and a proficient gardener. She had a deep appreciation for nature and loved observing birds in their natural habitats. Always one to appreciate the beauty of seasonal changes, Patricia loved being outdoors in the New England weather and appreciated the dormant trees' ability to contain the energy to sustain and create new life in the spring.
She leaves behind her cherished husband of 63 years, Laurence R. Boedeker of Attleboro, MA, her two sons, Thomas Boedeker of San Diego, CA, Steve Boedeker and his wife Kathy of Attleboro, MA; her sister Caroline Oliver of Outer Banks, NC; her grandchildren, Alex his wife Courtney, Joshua, Lilly, & Savannah. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dolores Campbell and her sister Catherine McOrmond.
Patricia's loved ones would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Senior Living for the love and care they provided during her time there. In lieu of flowers, they request the planting of Daffodils this fall, to bring years of spring beauty and enjoyment.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 63 Rockwood Road, Norfolk, MA, 02056. A Memorial Service will immediately follow Visitation. The family has invited all to remain at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for continued fellowship and light refreshments.
In these challenging times, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Patricia to the memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a comforting reminder of Patricia's loving spirit and the joy she brought into our lives. Services for Patricia are under the care of Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, www.duffy-poule.com
