Patricia R. Broghammer, 84, Colman, SD, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Avera Dells Area Hospital, Dell Rapids, SD. Patricia was born on August 21, 1937, in Madison, SD, the daughter of James C. and Anna Z. (Pryor) Webber. She attended school for 8 years at St. Thomas Aquinas in Madison and graduated in 1955 from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD. Patricia worked at McKennan hospital through high school as a nurses aid. She then worked as a bookkeeper at a fast-food restaurant and an insurance adjusting company.
She was united in marriage to James Broghammer on September 7, 1959, in Sioux Falls and to this union five children were born, Roger, Terry, Doug, Donald and Sharon. Pat & Jim farmed in the Colman area until 1982. Pat was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Colman, and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters, the American Legion, and a Booster for the Colman-Egan athletics and band programs. Pat loved entertaining family, get togethers, and working in her flower beds.
Pat is survived by five children, Roger, Colman; Doug (Kim), New Berlin, NY; Don (Christine), Rapid City, SD; Sharon Broghammer, Mitchell, SD; Bruce (Valerie) Heyer, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Broghammer, Linda Broghammer, Jo Ann Carpenter, Judy Broghammer, Clare Fink, Georgia Race; brothers-in-law: Steve Broghammer, Stan Votek and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son Terry; her parents; her sisters: Lorraine, Jean, Dorothy, and Reva; daughter-in-law, Shelly Broghammer; and many brothers-and-sisters-in-law; and extended relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2021, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Colman, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman, with a 3 p.m. scripture service.
