Born in Sterling, IL, Pat Reynolds passed away from metastatic breast cancer on August 15, in the home of her sister, Barbara Reynolds, of Alameda, CA. She was a resident of Payson, AZ and Sterling, IL.
Pat is also survived by her daughters, Elizabeth O'Sullivan of Prescott, Arizona and Kathryn Miller of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, as well as grandson, Liam O'Sullivan of Chicago and granddaughters, Lena Miller and Reva Miller of South Carolina.
Pat graduated from Sterling High and received her BA from Western Illinois University and Masters degrees in ESL and Educatonal Administration from National Louis University of Evanston, IL.
Pat was a consummate educator, teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) in the Chicago suburbs. After receiving her Masters, she became a Principal for grade schools in the Chicago area. After retiring, she did a West Coast adventure in an RV and settled down in Payson, AZ, where her college roommate lived. Never one to let sand settle under her feet, she resumed her educational career and became the Director of Adult Education of Gila County in Arizona, where she helped many of adults get their GED degrees. The last couple years she continued her adventures with trips to Hawaii and the Grand Canyon.
She will be sorely missed by her family and the people of Payson and her friends in Sterling and Chicago. A Private Memorial Service will be held in Payson, AZ on September 20 and a Private Graveside Service in Dixon, IL on September 27. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
