Patrick O’Neill Jones

Patrick O'Neill Jones passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 48, in Lexington, KY, with his wife by his side, on their 8th wedding anniversary. A beloved husband to Rachel Mattingly Jones and dedicated father to his 6-year-old daughter Vivian Morgan Jones, Patrick was known for his hardworking nature, humor, cooking incredible meals, unforgettable skills on the mic, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Susan Morgan Jones and Plummer Mason Jones III, his brother, Plummer Mason Jones IV, and his grandparents, John O'Neill Morgan, Irene Cecilia Morgan, Plummer Mason Jones II, and Vivian Roth Jones.
Patrick is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who feel like family from his career in the restaurant industry.
For over two decades, Patrick served as the Executive Chef at Merrick Inn Restaurant, where his culinary talents left a lasting mark on all who dined there. His passion for cooking extended beyond his professional life into his personal one, often preparing one-of-a-kind meals for family and friends. He cherished spending time with his wife and daughter and was an enthusiastic fan of our hometown Kentucky Wildcats and the Denver Broncos.
A service to celebrate Patrick's life will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY, on Friday, September 20th. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:30 pm.
