Osceola - Patrick Russell, age 66, of Osceola, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born December 14, 1957, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late William C. and Donna L. (née Dubois) Russell.
Patrick graduated from Penn High School. During his school years, he enjoyed playing baseball and continued his love for the game as a little league coach to his children. He was an avid sports fan, following Notre Dame, the Cincinnati Reds and Minnesota Vikings. In his youth, he attended Twin City Baptist Church and most recently was a member of the River Valley Community Church. He generously donated his time to several causes including, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, The Center for the Homeless and Hope Rescue Mission.
Patrick did many different things for work in his life including parking attendant at Notre Dame, DineIn food delivery, and transporting RVs across the country. He was also the Manager and Owner of several convenience stores. While he was a very hard worker, regardless of the occupation he was best known for spreading joy to his customers and fellow employees. His "dad jokes" were one of a kind and his empathy will be remembered by all.
He is survived by a son, Brett (Zorina Disheva) Russell of Chicago, IL. Three daughters, Amy (James) Rotering of LaPorte, Jennifer (Kevin) Brewer of South Bend, and Laura Russell of Mishawaka.
Six grandchildren: Jeffrey Ransbottom, Logan Luther, Adisen Van Deventer, Gretchen Luther, Linden Brewer, and Zachary Ransbottom.
Four brothers: William C. (Belinda) Russell of Hot Springs, AR, David W. (Juanita) Russell of Winston Salem, NC, John A. (Tammy) Russell, and Thomas A. (Karren) Russell of Osceola.
Three sisters: Gaylene Shepherd of Clayton, NC, Angela Brown of Dayton, OH, and Kelly (William) Legg of Purvis, MS.
And Stepmother, E. Jean Russell of Dayton, OH.
Patrick's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 26th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Tuesday, August 27th from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN.
Reverend Roger Coleman will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Patrick's children to help cover funeral costs. Donations may be made at the donation boxes during visitation or via GoFundMe (link: https://gofund.me/0046c6c4).
