Patrocinia "Pat" A. (Nunes) Pires, 100, of Bristol passed away peacefully in Bristol on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Sam R. Pires.
Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Salvador and Maria (Schumon) Nunes.
Pat was a member of the congregation at the First Congregational Church in Bristol where she was a member of the Board of Deacons. Pat was a staple at the church bazaar for many years. She was also a member of the United Brothers Synagogue in Bristol. She was a buyer for the Shepard Co. In Providence and a Manager at Peerless in Weyland Square for many years.
Pat is survived byher nieces and nephews: Karl Correia, Claude Correia, Dawn McKown, Leila Fay, Alan Nunes and Jane Nunes; her 13 great nieces and nephews, and17 great great nieces and nephews.
Pat was pre-deceased by her husband Sam, her parents: Salvador and Maria, and her siblings: Fernanda Nunes Correia and Antonio A. Nunes.
Pat was laid to rest at North Burial Ground with a private committal service. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 205 High Street, Bristol on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 300 High Street, Bristol, RI 02809 or to the United Brothers Synagogue, 205 High Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
