After a short, but courageous battle with cancer, Paul E. Barcus, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 2, 2022. He was born August 27, 1965 in Sandusky, Ohio to Paul Barcus Sr. and Cora (Jeffers) Barcus Nance.
Paul will be remembered mostly by others for his love for the game. He was the best third baseman around. You knew when you heard Number 9 that PB snagged someone's ball on that third baseline! Paul talked about his days of playing baseball and softball up until his final days. Paul loved to hang out with all of his Bunco Husbands and Camper Friends on the weekends. He loved being outside whether at the house working on the yard and pool or sitting outside at the camper on the deck enjoying a cup of coffee.
Paul loved and cherished his wife, Richelle. He made sure that every free moment he had that they were together making memories. The past 8 years Paul got to enjoy life making a lot of memories with his wife Richelle traveling. His favorite thing to do was going on cruises so it made perfect sense that Paul married the love of his life on a cruise. Paul was a momma's boy and loved his momma. She was always just one call away. Paul's love for all of the kids was unconditional. They could call him with any problem, and he would be there for them no matter what.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Richelle; Mother Cora (Jeffers) Barcus Nance; Children: Nichole Clifton, Corey (Mercedes) Barcus, Chase Barcus, Alex Barcus, and Ashley Hatfield; Brothers: Patrick (Chong) Barcus and Orville (Carissa) Barcus; Sister: Jacqueline (Todd) Johnson; Grandchildren: Averie, Daquanne, Deionta, Nia, Abigail, and Carlie; Stepmother Janet Barcus. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Paul Barcus Sr. and dad Earl Nance.
Paul is now no longer suffering and with his father Paul, Sr., and his dad Earl. Paul and Earl are probably already getting a softball team together and starting a Poor Boy Bass Club.
Please consider making a donation in Paul's name to posthope.org. This organization made it possible to keep all of Paul's friends and family updated via a blog for free. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in need get support and connect with loved ones privately.
