Paul Lee Caufield, born on December 28, 1948, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away on August 21, 2025, in his hometown. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and kindness, shaped by his commitment to family, service, and community.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, having enlisted on January 26, 1968, at Shewmaker ANGB in Kentucky. During his time in the Air Force, he rose to the rank of Sergeant E-4 and was honorably discharged on July 14, 1973. This experience instilled in him a deep sense of pride in his service, and he carried the values of duty and honor throughout his life.
After his military service, Paul enjoyed a fulfilling career at Colgate Palmolive Company, where he dedicated 24 years of his life as a maintenance foreman. He was known as a jack of all trades, always eager to lend a hand and work on various projects around his home. His ability to help others with their own tasks was a testament to his generous spirit.
Paul was not only dedicated to his profession but also to his community. He was a proud member of American Legion Post #28, where he contributed his time and efforts to care for the needs of fellow veterans, and a member of the 40/8 Voiture #1250.
Beyond work and community involvement, Paul enjoyed woodworking and traveling, activities that brought him joy and fulfillment. His proudest accomplishment, however, was his role as a family man. Spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, was the greatest joy of his life.
Paul is survived by his son, Todd J. (Shannon) Caufield; daughter, Tiffany M. (Robert) Eaton; grandchildren, Kaylan Caufield, Raegan (Cory) Feuerbacher, Sidney Caufield, Penelope Eaton, and Oliver Eaton; sister, Alice Caufield; brother, Art (Ann) Caufield; sister, Sharon Rake; significant other, Tammy Kavalos; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edgar and Irene Elizabeth Caufield; brother, John Caufield, Jr.; sister, Doris Miller; and brother, Louis Caufield.
