Paul Feldner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by E.J. Fielding Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 9, 2025.
Paul Feldner passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. He was born in New Orleans, LA, on September 28, 1943.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly Feldner Grossnickle and spouse, Don Christian Grossnickle, Lance Andrew Feldner, and Kelli Feldner Espinosa and spouse, Ricardo Raphael Espinosa; his grandchildren, Dane Hayden Grossnickle, Donna Christiana Grossnickle, Oscar Alexander Espinosa, and Angelo Ricardo Espinosa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Chelena Feldner; his parents, Warren Philip Feldner and Helen Glancey Outen; and his sibling, Thomas Philip Feldner. He also leaves behind many cousins, nephews, and loved ones.

The family of Paul Wayne Feldner is saddened to announce that he passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 82 years. Born in New Orleans, he was a long-time resident of Metairie, Louisiana, and later retired to Covington, Louisiana.

After graduating from Fortier High School, Paul married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Rose Chelena, in December of 1966. Their devoted partnership endured for 40 years and remained one of the greatest joys of his life.

Paul dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his family, working tirelessly to provide for those he loved. Early in his career, he lent his skills to Pepper and Associates as a draftsman before continuing his craft in marine drafting at Avondale Shipyards. Never one to shy away from extra effort, he spent countless weekends as a professional wedding photographer, capturing the dreams and celebrations of New Orleans families. Over the course of more than 35 years, his artistry preserved the memories of thousands of couples on their most cherished day.

Paul was a man of many interests and remarkable talents. For years, he was an avid runner, proudly participating in the Crescent City Classic each year. Gifted with a meticulous eye and a steady hand, he found great joy in woodworking, creating pieces that reflected both craftsmanship and care.

A passionate collector, Paul immersed himself in the world of antiques and World War II memorabilia, preserving history with curiosity and reverence. In his later years, he discovered a love of boating and spent countless hours on the water, finding peace in the open air. He also enjoyed learning to play guitar, which brought him and those around him simple, enduring joy.

In addition to his family, Paul's constant companions were his beloved dogs; he was rarely seen without one by his side. His loyalty, enthusiasm for life, and gentle spirit will be dearly remembered by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum.
