Paul Daniel Settlemires

Paul Daniel Settlemires, age 66, departed this life on Thursday morning, September 4, 2025, at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee.

Graveside service will be at 2 PM Sunday September 21, 2025, in the Shiloh Cemetery in Tippah County, with Bro. Randy Hamilton officiating.

Born on September 12, 1958, in Florida, Mr. Paul was the son of the late Howard J. and Syble Meeks Settlemires. He was a graduate of Ripley High School and worked as a self-employed logger throughout his life. On October 4, 1979, he married his beloved wife, Mrs. Maria Theresia Settlemires, and together they planted their roots in Tippah County, where they shared forty-four years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and friendship.

A Christian and a natural-born people person, Mr. Paul never met a stranger. He was a man who lived life to the fullest-always on the go, full of humor, and quick with a joke. He loved the outdoors, whether he was fishing, traveling, or simply admiring the beauty of God's creation. He also had a great appreciation for antiques and could often be found striking up conversations that left others smiling.

While Mr. Paul's life was not without struggles, he remained, as we all are, a human being-imperfect but loved, and a man who still carried joy and light for those who knew him. His story reminds us that every life is a mixture of both triumphs and trials, but in the end, what endures is the love shared and the memories cherished. Today, Paul is at peace, resting in the hands of his Heavenly Father, free from the burdens of this world, and remembered for the laughter, kindness, and warmth he brought into the lives of so many.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Julie Clardy (Bill), and Peggy Marks (Mitchell), one son, Steven Paul (Christy), two sisters, Peggy Brooks, and Paulette Carr, two brothers, Donnie Settlemires, and Junior Settlemires (Sarah), sixteen grandchildren, and thirty great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Paul is also preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Rainey, one brother, Jimmy Settlemires, and one sister, Abbie Holmes.
