Paul D. Smith of St Charles, Missouri passed on to new life in Christ Thursday July 27, 2023.
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving Wife - Beth Smith, Daughter - Aubrey Lorece, Siblings - Tim (Mary Jo) Smith, Kevin M. (Diane) Smith, Gary J. (Debby) Smith, Peggy A. Smith, Laure A. Smith, Patti L. (Joe) Garza, Sister-in-law's - Mary Beth Smith, Terry Smith, Beloved Pet - Chimo. Along with the many cousins, God children, nieces and nephews – all very dear to him.
He is preceded in death by his Parents Charles and Imelda Smith, Siblings - Charles E. Smith, Terry N. Smith, Kerry P. Smith.
Paul was a Cousin, Uncle, Great Uncle, Godfather and Friend.
He will be deeply missed by all.
Paul graduated from Duchesne High School ('69). He served proudly in the United States Army. Many have worked with him through the years mainly as a roofing contractor or at Maryland Heights Concrete, St. Louis Bridge Construction Company, MEMC Electronics and Wentzville School District - Security.
There are not enough words that could encompass a proper description of Paul. He was perfectly imperfect. Hard-working and yet a procrastinator. The looks of a burly rugged man and in truth, was a teddy bear. He took pride in his work, believed in supporting local business and helping anyone as much as he could. He was mischievous and enjoyed getting away with a good trick. Nothing was better than a good laugh! He had numerous talents but never recognized how gifted he truly was. His knowledge was vast about nature and the way of the world.
His family was everything to him. To have such a close-knit family is rare, each sibling is loyal and dedicated to one another. The memory of Charles & Imelda is larger than life, a true match made in heaven when the Smiths on 916 Circle Drive made a home. Providence continued on Circle Drive when Paul met the girl next door after some matchmaking made by his brother Jack. A Southern California girl and a bearded wonder were blessed to have their only precious daughter.
His faith in God sustained him fully on this earthly journey, there are too many blessings to list. The support of his family and friends is unmatched. He was surrounded by all of these as he passed, knowing he was loved.
Paul had a great appreciation for the elusive sasquatch and yeti. It has been a long standing inside joke within the family, long before he was even ill, that when he passed, God would reveal the many mysteries of the universe to him. One of the first would be the sasquatch!
In honor of the great quest of the yeti and sasquatch – there will be a casual funeral celebration wearing our yeti t-shirts. If you would like a t-shirt, please use this link below to order. https://paulsmith.itemorder.com/shop/category/191227/
For the many friends and family that are unable to join in person, the Mass will be live streamed to allow us to pray together via livestream through St. Cletus - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqaUyuEr3iay-wJlT9axDAg

Paul work with me at the Wentzville School District, and I always enjoyed seeing him coming into work where I could share a quick conversation with him. I enjoyed his smile and how he was always "ready to go check out the schools." Paul will be greatly missed, and I'm glad I got to know him for the few short years I did.
