Paula L. Grimes

Obituary
Paula L. Grimes, 64, entered eternal life on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born to the late William and Rita Smallwood (Napier) on May 6, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky. Paula earned her bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University and her Master's in Education from the University of Louisville. She retired after 33 years from Portland Christian School. Paula was a member of the Hamburg Church of Christ and the Portland Christian Alumni Association. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Paula was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Smallwood.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Nathan Grimes of Sellersburg, Indiana, her son, Daniel Grimes (Felicity) of Henryville, Indiana, her daughter, Kathleen Estrada (Matthew) of Indianapolis, Indiana, her brother, Brian Smallwood (Diane) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, her sister, Linda Spencer of Louisville, Kentucky, her grandchildren, Blair and Palmer Grimes and her father-in-law, Emory Grimes, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Sellersburg Church of Christ (213 S New Albany St, Sellersburg, IN 47172). Visitation will be held at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Portland Christian School (8509 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 4024).
