Paulette Marie Vallecillo, age 57, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025,
surrounded in love by her mom and sisters. During Paulette's courageous, decade-long battle
with cancer, she embraced each day with hope and humor.
Born on March 2, 1967 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, she had a strong connection to the island and
the beautiful culture, a proud Boricua! She was raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia and
graduated from Tucker High School in 1985. She attended West Georgia College and the Art
Institute of Atlanta, and later worked at various restaurants before joining Encompass Digital
Media (formerly Crawford Communications), where she worked for 29 years.
Paulette was an avid sports fan, curling up with her cats, or meeting friends to cheer on the
Falcons, the Braves and the college teams that her nieces and nephews attend(ed). Paulette
worshipped the sun and never missed an opportunity to catch some rays, whether at a beautiful
beach on vacation or in her driveway- she was always working to perfect her tan. More recently,
she enjoyed exploring new places, traveling with her mom to Europe and the Panama Canal.
Paulette was an extremely loyal and beautiful friend, who you could count on to tell it like it is,
send you just the perfect greeting card, and to make you laugh. She utilized humor to provide
much needed levity and will be dearly missed by all of us. Our world has lost an incredible
daughter, sister, aunt, cat mom, niece, cousin, and friend.
Paulette is preceded in death by her father, Luis Manuel Vallecillo; grandparents, Margot
Martinez, Eurico Martinez, Maria Teresa Vallecillo, and Dr. Luis Vallecillo; Godmother, Nilda
Vallecillo; aunt- Blanquita Vallecillo; uncles- Pierre Lacombe, and Dr. Mario Ravry; and cousins,
Jean Marc Lacombe and Pierre Lacombe.
Paulette is survived by her mother, Annette M. Vallecillo; sisters, Dr. Nanette V. Evans and
husband Dr. Bill Evans (Tx), Dr. Lynette V. Apen and husband Kurt Apen (CA); aunts, Yvette
Ravry, Cuca Lacombe, Lizette Segarra; uncle, Luisito Vallecillo, nephews, Will Evans and Riley
Apen; nieces, Aliana Evans and Kelsey Apen; cousins, Marie Claude Lacombe, Dr. Mario
Ravry, Yvette Paris, Marianne McDevitt, and Gabriel Segarra; and cats, Paco and Tuttu
Vallecillo.
A celebration of Paulette's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2pm, at Bill Head
Funeral Homes & Crematory/ Lilburn Tucker Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research
Hospital in Paulette's honor.
May Paulette Vallecillo rest in eternal peace, and may she be remembered for the love and
laughter that she brought into the lives of others.
