With profound sorrow and deep love, the family of Paulina Xiomara Machado, aged 83, announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, May 2, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on June 22, 1941, in Cuba to Vicente and Marina Santos, Paulina's life was a testament to devotion to family.
A beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Paulina will be remembered for the unwavering care and affection she extended to those around her. Her kindness, nurturing spirit, and quiet strength touched all who had the blessing of knowing her.
She is survived by her cherished daughters, Xiomara M. and her husband Jorge L. Núñez, and Belky Machado and her husband Fermin Antonio Azuaje. Paulina's legacy lives on through her treasured grandchildren: Jonathan R. Ward, Collin J. Ward, Krista J. Ward, Noah R. Núñez, Sean M. Padilla, and Lucas J. Núñez. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Olga Castellano, and her brother, Juan Santos, and his wife, Lucinda. Her nieces and nephews-Cristina Cabrera, Jorge Castellano, Arely Flores, Marisa Santos, Luisa Escobedo, and Elisabeth Llopiz-along with an extended circle of dear friends, will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Paulina found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in watching her novelas, cheered passionately for the Houston Astros, and above all, found her greatest happiness in the presence of her grandchildren, whose laughter and love filled her heart.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paulina's life at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Houston. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. A reception in her honor will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Banquet Hall.
Paulina's memory will endure as a guiding light to those who knew her-a life beautifully lived, wholly devoted to her family, and so deeply loved.
