DOUGLASS, Peggy Maxine – of Clio, age 90, died Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Gross Assisted Living. Honoring Peggy's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held at this time.
Peggy was born February 6, 1935, in Holcomb, Missouri to the late John and Ethel (Oakes) Evans. She grew up in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Central High School with the class of 1953. On June 27, 1953, she married Bennett B. Douglass in Flint, Michigan and he preceded her in death in 1999. Prior to her retirement, Peggy worked for Clio Public Schools as a Secretary. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Peggy and her husband lived in West Branch for 20 years and loved boating on the Tittabawassee River. She enjoyed doing ceramics and going to lunch with her friends. Her greatest joy in life was her family.
Surviving are: Daughter, Kelly Douglass; Grandchildren, Kimberly (James) Plouffe, Scott A. Douglass; Great Grandchildren, Haden (Bella) Plouffe and Audrey Plouffe; many loving nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Benny Douglass; Son, Scott B. Douglass; Siblings, Betty (Harold) Heslop, Bob (Willadeen) Evans; Father and Mother-in-law, Bennett C. and Pearl Douglass; Brother-in-law, Mickey (Carole) Douglass. The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to the caregivers at Gross Assisted Living and Absolute Home Health and Hospice.
