Peggy Jean Toney Massey, 79, of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to the late Robey A. and Bessie Mae Allmond Toney and was married to James Ervin Massey who survives.

She retired from Belk, was a former member of McLeansville Baptist Church and currently attended Glencoe Baptist Church. Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ervin Massey; sons, Darrell Massey (Cheryl), Travis Massey (Debbie); daughters, Tina Almond (Jeffrey), Tina Walshe (Frank); grandchildren, Johnathan Massey (Bambie), Caleb Massey (Alicia), Casey Musa (Francisco), Ashley Collins (Cory), Casey Evans (Adam), Joshua Walshe (Ally), Erin Walshe Brown (Damian), Jacob Walshe (Jenny) and Kaleb Massey (Ashley); great grandchildren, Malachi Massey, Isaac Walshe, Jonah Walshe, Cadence Walshe, Kayton Norris, Makayla Musa, Gabriel Massey, Finn Brown, Caulder Collins, Ava Musa, Troy Evans and Trace Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Renee Flores and a grandson, Michael Moore.

A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday October 28, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastors, Darrell Massey and Joshua Walshe with burial to follow at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
