Peggy Ann Steward McCabe, a beacon of love and wisdom, entered into eternal rest on September 17, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on May 26, 1950, in the heart of Texas, Peggy's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to serving others.

Peggy's journey in life was marked by her commitment to her family, her country, and her God. As a proud graduate of the University of Texas, she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing, a profession that would define her contribution to the world. Peggy's nurturing spirit was evident early in her career as she served with distinction in the Air Force, touching the lives of countless individuals with her caring hands and compassionate heart.

After her honorable service, Peggy continued her vocation as a nurse across various states, ultimately sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience as a Professor of Nursing in Louisiana. Her dedication to education and health care left an indelible mark on the students and colleagues who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Peggy's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence. It guided her through life's trials and triumphs and was the source of her strength in her final battle with cancer. Her involvement in her church was not merely a duty but a joy, as she served her congregation in numerous capacities, always with a smile and a word of encouragement.

Her interests outside of her professional and spiritual life were a reflection of her vibrant personality. Peggy found solace and joy in the company of horses, an interest that spoke to her appreciation for God's creation. She delighted in the camaraderie of card games with her beloved family and was an enthusiastic football fan, celebrating every victory with the same grace with which she accepted life's defeats.

Peggy was the loving matriarch of a family that adored her. She leaves behind her eldest son, James McCabe; her daughter, Mary Baker; and her youngest son, John McCabe. Each of them carries a part of Peggy's legacy in their hearts. She is also survived by her brother, Bill, and her sister, Cathy. Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley, and brother, Gary, both of whom she loved dearly and now joins in the presence of the Lord.

The words "loving," "kind," and "wise" only begin to scratch the surface of who Peggy was. Her unwavering kindness touched all who knew her, and her wisdom was a guiding light for friends, family, and colleagues alike. Peggy's legacy is not one of material possessions but of love, service, and faith-a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

As we bid farewell to Peggy Ann Steward McCabe, we do so with the assurance that her life was well-lived and her spirit now rests in the loving arms of her Savior. We are comforted by the memories of her love and the knowledge that we will see her again in glory. Until then, we hold her close in our hearts, ever thankful for the precious time we had with her.
