Peter J. Acciavatti

WAREHAM – Peter J. Acciavatti, 70, of Wareham passed away April 22, 2023, at Tobey Hospital, while surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Virginia M. (Nieva) Acciavatti and the son of the late Edward D. and Lillian B. (Lamarine) Acciavatti.
He was born in Quincy and lived in South Easton before moving to Wareham. He graduated from Quincy High School, class of 1970. He served in the Mass National Guard.
Mr. Acciavatti worked as a Lead Service Attendant for Amtrak for 20 years before retiring in 2014.
He was a member of the New Bedford-Wareham Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and Keno, and working in his yard. Also, spending time with his friends Michael & Jan Lambiase and Ted Sajdyk.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Virginia M. (Nieva) Acciavatti; his daughters, Michelle T. Todd and her husband, Shawn of Weymouth and Jennifer L. Varney and her husband, Jacob of Northboro; a brother, Edward T. Acciavatti and his wife Margo of Port S. Lucie, FL; 2 granddaughters, Francesca Todd and Jillian Varney; several much loved nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Linda Towle, Richard Acciavatti and his twin sister Pamela Mignosa.
Visiting hours are from 2:00pm to 4:30pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 at the funeral home.
