Peter Alan Cooper, a creative, kind-hearted, and passionate man, passed away on June 27, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on December 24, 1968, in Euclid, Ohio, to Dale and Helen Cooper, Peter lived a life full of imagination, warmth, and genuine care for others.
Peter had a deep love for storytelling, comic book art, music, movies, and laughter. He was a gifted artist and a natural storyteller, bringing to life vivid characters and exciting adventures with a unique spark that reflected his own spirit. He found joy in simple pleasures-especially in watching turtles, a quiet pastime that brought him peace and wonder.
As a child, Peter and his brother Jason earned the nickname "sewer rats" for the countless hours they spent exploring ditches and drainage ways along the sides of the road-an early sign of Peter's adventurous spirit, love of the outdoors, and endless imagination.
Above all, Peter was a devoted father. His bond with his son, Conan, was filled with love, shared interests, and mutual respect. Being Conan's dad was Peter's greatest pride and joy.
Peter worked in many roles over the years, always bringing creativity and heart to everything he did. His passion for aquatics eventually turned into a fulfilling career at AquaDoc, where he enjoyed working outdoors and connecting with nature. He also made a lasting impact while supporting young people at a group home for boys-his compassion, patience, and empathy touched many lives.
He is survived by his parents, Dale and Helen Cooper of Chardon, Ohio; his son, Conan Cooper of Geneva, Ohio; his sister, Juliet (Dale) Cooper of Willoughby Hills, Ohio; his brother, Jason Cooper of Leroy Township, Ohio; and his nephew, Jacob Cooper of West Park, Ohio; and his niece Jocelyn Newland. He will also be missed dearly by many loving friends who were fortunate to be part of his life.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a service to follow, at The Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Donations in Peter's memory may be made to Traditions Hospice, in gratitude for the compassionate care and support they provided.
Peter Alan Cooper will be remembered for his creativity, humor, and the love he shared so freely. His stories, his laughter, and his adventurous spirit live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Arrangements are entrusted to Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.burrservice.com.
