Peter Leonhard Everts, born February 10, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Born at Holy Cross Hospital to Jason Elon and Patricia "Pat" Everts, Peter was the eldest of two children, with his younger brother Joel Christen arriving seven years later.
A proud and decorated Vietnam War veteran, Peter served his country with honor and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery and dedication. Following his military service, he moved to Michigan with his folk band, The Brandywine Singers. It was there that he met Sharon, the love of his life. The two were married six months later and shared 53 wonderful years together.
Peter's creative spirit shone brightly through his passions for music and writing. He was an accomplished guitarist and author of the novel *The Denverse Thesis*, a testament to his love of storytelling and artistic expression. His music and words touched the lives of many and left a lasting legacy.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife Sharon; his son Jason (Jennifer); his daughter Erin; and his treasured grandchildren Ingrid, Rocky, and Lincoln. He will also be fondly remembered by those who knew him for the joy he brought into their lives and the memories they shared.
Services to honor Peter's life will be held at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd., Rochester MI on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Family visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the service will start at 4 p.m. with a military honor guard.
