Peter William Giorgis II

Peter William Giorgis II of Standish, Mich., formerly of Au Gres, Mich., passed away March 28, 2024, at the age of 45. Pete was born in Bay City, Mich. on Nov. 3, 1978.
As a small child he was sweet and kind and brought much joy to his family. He especially loved spending time with all his loving grandparents, aunts and uncles who adored him.
Growing up, Pete attended Au Gres-Sims Schools from 1st to 12th grades, graduating in 1997. Pete also attended the Bay-Arenac Career Center. He excelled in the Auto Mechanics Program where he received the Student of the Year award and his State Certified Auto Mechanic License. After graduating, Pete attended Delta College to complete his education as a Certified Master Mechanic. This was an accomplishment he took great pride in. Pete loved to work; his mechanical knowledge was unsurpassed. To many he was known as the "best around."
His career began immediately after high school graduation. Pete was employed by garages and auto dealerships in Bay, Arenac and, most recently, Midland County. He was always eager to assist family. Pete was often the first person they called when their vehicle had a problem, or they needed advice on a new purchase.
Pete had a contagious smile and a heart of gold. He will be missed by those who truly knew him. He was extremely proud of his children, and the successful paths they are following on their journey into adulthood.
Pete is survived by his children, Elexis, Hunter, Chase and Aiden; granddaughter Emma Rose; parents, David and Carol Wright of Au Gres; father Peter Giorgis of Sterling; grandmother Margaret Wright; siblings, Jeremy Gillespie (Shawna Klenk), Matthew (Sharon) Wright, Alicia (James) Sesler, Emily Wright (fiancé Daniel Perez); niece Aria; nephews, Matthew and Mason; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his uncle William Giorgis and special friends, Charity Morris, Todd Garlow and Bob Hill who stood by him through good and bad times.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Sarah; grandparents Julius (Mike) and Mary Giorgis, Ronald and Charlotte Wanless, grandfather Donald Wright; and nephew Henry James Sesler.
A funeral service will be at 6:00 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home – Standish Chapel, with Pastor Steven Karp presiding. The family will greet guests on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of service.
