RICHMOND, IN- Phillip Craig Tramontana, born on March 30, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away instantly in a car collision near Idanha, Oregon on February 11, 2025. He grew up in Richmond, Indiana, and graduated from Richmond High School in 1970. Craig was always creative and talented. Growing up, he built a go-cart, a suspension bridge which you could walk across, and a snow igloo so large that he, his 2 brothers and sister could fit inside without it collapsing. We had a blast when we were kids playing with all the stuff Craig made.In junior high school, he set low hurdle records in track and field and continued to break records in high school. Craig was also a gifted artist winning many awards for his work in stained glass, leather, charcoal, and pencil. As an adult, he built a custom trike and a sleeper camper, and worked in custom home construction, rebuilding his house in Oregon into a beautiful home.Craig was known for his perfectionism, talent, and selflessness. Now he is at peace. He will be so very much missed. Craig was such a bright light that was extinguished too quickly. He is survived by his sons, Phillip Craig Jr. and Christopher; daughters, Christina (Sean) Langford and Allegra; brother, Brad (Peggy); and sister, Renata (Martin) Vince; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Aletha and his brother, Terry. Private memorial service will take place in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery on February 28, 2025. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.Condolences can be sent to the family via the guest book at www.doanmillsfuneralhome.com
