Phyllis Joan Oliver, 82, of Arlington, formerly of Markleville passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at her home. She was born Dec

25, 1942 in Carthage, Indiana to Charles and Elizabeth (Cravens) Whitfield.

Joan was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and camping.

Joan is survived by daughter Jada (James) Miller, grandchildren Harley Miller and Eddie Cartwright, special niece Denise (Gary) Spence as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Oliver, son Ralph Oliver, Jr., her parents listed above and siblings Lucille Fairchild, Clement Whitfield, Charles Whitfield, Max Whitfield, Catherine Springer and Betty Hinton.

A funeral to celebrate Joan's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 5635 W. 96th Street Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN 46278.
