Obituary for Phyllis Dianne Quick (Feb 5, 1948-Sep 14, 2025)
The walls of her home are adorned with pictures, framed photos of her children through their years of growth, black and whites of her and Lendy during their first years together, sepia-colored photos of aunts and grandparents and uncles, colored pictures of grandkids and nieces and nephews. Family, smiling out at anyone who'll look, because family meant more to her than anything else.
A Thursday child born in Bonifay, Florida, Phyllis "Dianne" Eldridge came into this world on February 5th, 1948, the eldest of six children of Ernest Mallory Eldridge and Elouise (nee Wilkinson) Eldridge. Her parents moved to Panama City when Dianne was still young, and she and her siblings grew up in the Highland Park and Dirego Park communities. She met the love of her life, Lendy Max Quick, as a young child, and that love stayed strong as they grew up and later started their life together in marriage on April 20th, 1963. Lendy and Dianne traveled the world as an Army family, welcoming their first-born Billy Keith into this world in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1966. Their travels brought them back to Bay County where their daughter Sheena was born in 1969, shortly after Lendy deployed to Vietnam. Upon his return stateside, the family was stationed at both Fort Gillem, GA, and Fort Rucker, AL, before settling at their final homestead in Dirego Park. Dianne raised her children, loved her husband, and took care of her family all of her years. Through it all, she still managed to work a number of years at both Western Steer and Morrisons Cafeteria. She loved listening to music when she cooked meals, and like all southern Moms, she loved feeding her family and friends. Her red velvet cake was heavenly, and her homemade dumplings melted in the mouth. Dianne also loved anything colorful including fresh flowers and bright clothing. She enjoyed solving puzzles, eating out at new restaurants, and spending time with her siblings. Most of all though, she deeply loved her family.
Dianne joined her husband Lendy and her son Billy in Heaven on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, after an extended illness.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, as well as two brothers Wendell "Peanut" and Morgan. Mourning her loss are her daughter Sheena; daughter-in-love Kris; grandson Stephen; grandson and granddaughter-in-love Christopher and Rachael; siblings Mike and wife Lynne, Randall and wife Diana, and Sonya; Aunt Betty; adopted daughter Colleen; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved grand-dog Kira.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice for their gentle and kind care offered to Dianne in her last days.
Visitation with the family will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Callaway, FL, on Saturday, September 20th, beginning at 1:00 P.M., with a celebration of life held at 2:00 P.M. Immediately following, graveside interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
