Ralph Marcath Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home on Jan. 4, 2026.
Ralph H. Marcath went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the age of 94.
Ralph was born on July 8, 1931 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, a son of Norman and Esther (nee Mahn) Marcath. On September 18, 1954, he married Evelyn McClelland at St. Peter Lutheran, Omo. They shared 67 years together; raising their daughters, running their business, traveling, loving on their grandchildren and making countless memories; before Evelyn's passing in 2022. In his younger years, he enjoyed Polka dancing, hunting, fishing and bowling. Ralph was a hard worker and prided himself on providing for his family. He owned and operated Pinecrest Homes, Inc. until he retired in the early 2000's but continued working as a building inspector for Chesterfield Township, Shelby Township and was a back up inspector for Ray Township and Macomb Township. After retiring, Ralph and his brothers took up tractor pulling together. He would play Euchre with family and friends when he had the chance. Ralph was loved by all who knew him and he loved to laugh, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ralph is survived by his daughters, Diane (Paul) Wright, Donna (Richard) DeVriendt and Debbie (Tim) McNabb; grandchildren, Joel, Paul, Alycia (Eric), Erika (Aaron) and Joshua (Abigail); great-grandchildren Madeline, Charlotte and Alan; siblings, Arlene Dittman and Donald (Kathleen) Marcath; sisters-in-laws, Elsie Marcath and Phyllis Marcath; countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; grandson, Ryan; siblings, Arnold Marcath, Earl Marcath, Gloria (Ken) Zienert, Herbert (Cecilia) Marcath; brother-in-law, Robert Dittman; and parents.
The visitation for Ralph will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with 10:00 a.m. instate time at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17051 24 Mile Road, Macomb. Military honors will take place immediately following the funeral service at the church. A Private Burial for the immediate family will take place following the funeral service in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Macomb.
