Randy G Fields, 68, of Edmond Oklahoma, passed away on May 31st, 2025, at Mercy
Hospital of Oklahoma City. While he was passing, he was surrounded by his loving family.
Randy married Cathy Leavitt, who took his last name uniting as Randy and Cathy
Fields December 15th, 1978, in Wilmont Place Baptist Church, and they shared 47
wonderful and exciting years together with a bond filled with love, laughter, and
unwavering support for one another. This incredible bond produced equally incredible and
loving children, Joshua Shane Fields, Chad Logan Fields, and Brett Austin Fields.
Randy was born on 12/29/1956 in Brazil, Indiana to Dorothy and Chet Fields, where
he was for five years after which he moved to south Oklahoma City where he started his
grade school education at Parmalee Elementary School. Later, attending Capitol Hill High
School, he participated in football as quarterback and in baseball as the catcher. He not
only enjoyed all subjects but excelled within each; especially mathematics and history.
After high school he sought higher education by attending multiple colleges, where he
received an associate's degree in electronics engineering.
While in the workforce his most cherished jobs were working behind the scenes at a
Borden's dairy facility, maintenance at OSU-OKC, boiler operations at the Federal Aviation
Administration, Sales associate for sporting goods at Academy, and ACE Hardware as an
assembler.
Randy was known for his intellect, strength, and resilience. His sense of humor
shined brightly through the good and the rough. Randy enjoyed the arts and crafts, from
writing and drawing to woodworking and fly tying. He was always ecstatic to care for the
family pets, spend time with the family, work on various projects. By far, he enjoyed the
peace and tranquility of fishing and the thrill of hunting. Randy always valued family and
integrity.
Randy leaves a strong legacy of a lovingly legendary wife and mother of three strong
children, along with two amazing grandsons. The wife being Cathy Michelle Fields current
strong age of 65. The three children are Joshua Shane Fields as the oldest at 37, the middle
child being Chad Logan Fields at 34, and the youngest one being Brett Austin Fields at 28.
The grandsons fathered by Chad Fields being Braydin Scott Fields at 16 and the youngest
being Carter Logan Fields at 11. Close surviving relative are Linda Schiele, Paula Miller,
Scott Schiele, Gretchen Steven, and Chloe Ann Vandivier. Preceding Randy was Ricky
Fields, Dorothy Fields, Chet Fields, and Paul Schiele.
