Ray Edward Walters, 78, of Lonsdale, Arkansas, passed away on June 24, 2025. He was born on September 19, 1946, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Ervin and Ethel Walters.
Ray was a devoted member of Owensville Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and played music. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Russian interpreter in military intelligence. After his service, he continued to share his passions and vast knowledge through his love of target shooting and volunteering with the Mountain Valley Sportsman's Association (MVSA), where he taught others how to handle firearms safely.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maureen Walters, and his parents.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Sarah Goodeaux (Robert Jr.); his brother, Bob Walters (Trudy); and his sister, Carla McLelland, two grandchildren, First Lieutenant Jessa Rose Goodeaux, Cole Goodeaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Owensville Baptist Church in Lonsdale, Arkansas. A celebration of Ray's life will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Jim Lagrone officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mountain Valley Sportsman's Association in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
