Ray Warren Weston passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born to Lee Ray and Lena Mae (King) Weston Steen on July 29, 1927. He was a friendly soul who enjoyed life to the fullest. On August 21, 1949, he married his beloved late wife, Fredia Maxine (Showalter) Weston. He had a career as a shipping supervisor at Quaker Oats.
Our Dad, Ray Weston, of 97 years, was appropriately named when he was born as he shined a "Ray" of hope, light, prosperity and kindness to every individual he ever met in his life. He was a man of faith, and the eternal optimist, who never met a stranger, and was more than willing to help anyone and everyone out in their time of need, always putting their wishes and needs above his every day.
Our "Weston Wish" is to get off this fast-paced social media frenzy and take time to reacquaint yourself with all your loved ones. Say "hi" to your mom and dad, brothers and sisters, cousins or strangers. Send less texts and GIFs, take the time to call someone to hear the reflection in their voice to know how their day is going. Give them an Uncle Dave "double hand wave" or a Grandpa Weston "man hug". Tell them you love them and catch up with them not later, but NOW! Life is so short!!! Funerals and weddings are not the way to stay connected. Let's get this ship back on the right path the "Weston Way!" Remember, as Grandpa always said, "You get more bees with honey, than vinegar" or "you're never too big for a "man hug".... and, of course, GO BUCKS!!
Ray, Mr. Weston, Dad, Grandpa.... whatever you called him, he was one of the greats and will be deeply missed by all who crossed his path. Preceding him in death is his wife, Fredia (Showalter) Weston, brother and sister-in-law, James and Gerry Weston, sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Dave Fogle and like a brother, Bob Cook. He leaves behind his sons, Eric (Debbie) Weston and Ryan (Jo) Weston, his daughter, Debbie (Gary) Thomas, his niece, Doris Louise Showalter and Madonna Cook, his 10 grandchildren, his 17 great grandchildren, and his 5 great great grandchildren.
The family will be having a private ceremony.

Ray was a wonderful neighbor, always had words of encouragement when I would head out to work each morning when I lived in Briar Creek.
