Raymond J Gordon, Jr., 67, left us suddenly on April 29, 2025. Loving son of the late Raymond J. and Elizabeth Wallace Gordon.
Born in Woodbury, NJ and a longtime resident of Pittsburgh, PA., Ray graduated from West Deptford High School in 1976 and Virginia Tech in 1980. He became a highly respected technical writer for several hardware and software development companies through the years and was still actively employed by San Jose, CA. based Cisco Systems.
Ray was a lifeguard and an avid competitive swimmer beginning at eight years old and continuing through college years. He was also a lifelong fan of Linda Ronstadt and always had a recommendation of a favorite movie or show while quoting dialogue. Ray enjoyed many things, especially family, friends, work, winning family football pools, making his delicious jam, Maine and Ocean City, NJ. We will forever cherish his wit, wisdom and kind spirit.
To remember and honor Ray today and every day, take a moment to listen to a favorite song, share a kind word, smile and enjoy a good laugh with someone, and always recycle.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ellen (née Gordon) Dutton and is survived by his brothers William (Louisa) and Andrew (Marybeth) Gordon and his sister, Margaret (Kevin) DeVinney. Treasured uncle of Heather (Stephen) Thomas; Andrew Gordon Jr.; Richard (Haley) Dutton; Will (Callie) DeVinney and Sara (Jordan) Schupan. Adored great uncle of Ashley, Lindsay, Samuel, and Emily Thomas and Ava Dutton. Ray will be missed more than words can say by his family, friends, his cherished pets, Victor, his dog and Rudy, his cat, and remembered with love forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in The Chapel at Boucher Funeral Home,.1757 Delsea Drive, Deptford, NJ.
Memorial Service at 11:30 AM in The Chapel of the funeral home.
