Raymond Henry Mata

Ray was born in Newark, New Jersey on May 30th, 1940. He is the son of the late Pat and Hazel Mata, brother of the late Patricia Mata and brother of Betty Peterson. Ray is a veteran of the United States Army and served overseas in Germany. Upon his return to the states, he became a Police Officer in Irvington New Jersey. He married his sweetheart Ellen Jova in 1971 and moved to Hollywood Florida where he served as a Police Sergeant for the Metro Dade Police Department until his retirement in 1995. While serving as a Police Officer, Ray also obtained his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Biscayne College. Ray is survived by his beloved wife Ellen, their daughter Carolyn, son-in-law John, and his favorite and only grand-daughter Olivia.
