Mrs. Reba Barrett Strickland, age 92 of Shelby, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 3, 2025.
She is survived by her two children, Chris Sanders and wife Deborah of Shelby, NC, and Teri Strickland of Roanoke, VA, five grandchildren, LaCosta Humphries, Collin Humphries, Cassidi Humphries, Christian Strickland, and Crystal Roseberry, four great grandchildren, Gia Fadorick, Tinley Humphries, Nicholas Postell, and Dakota Postell, five great great grandchildren, Clovis, Cyrena, Ruby, Alith, and Willow and her faithful canine companion, Gizmo.
Born July 22, 1933, in Cleveland County, NC, Reba was the daughter of the late Albert Barrett and Odessie Hayes Barrett and was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Garvis Lee Strickland, and a brother, J.B. Barrett.
Reba was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Crestview Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling on vacations with her late husband Garvis and spending time with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Crestview Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Timothy Sims. A visitation will be held from 10:00am – 11:00am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
