Rebecca "Becky" Ann Wurst, age 60, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Becky was born on May 23, 1963 in Coatesville, PA, and she spent her formative years alongside her parents and siblings in Downingtown, PA. From a young age, Becky was a beacon of light to everyone who came into contact with her. She was loved by everyone and was very involved in her community, church, and Girl Scouts. Her vibrant and fun personality, unshakeable faith in God, and devotion to helping others followed her into adulthood.

After meeting her husband and giving birth to their son, Becky moved with her family to Erie, PA, where she became very close with her husband's side of the family. Several years later, her husband was offered a job in Panama City, FL, where she and her family eventually set down roots. Becky earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from Florida State University, then went on to become a social worker with Covenant Hospice. She also spent part of her social work career as a Child Protective Investigator with the Florida Department of Children and Families.

More than anything, Becky was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to her son. She was the embodiment of strength and compassion. Becky was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement to her friends and loved ones. No matter what hardships she and her family endured in life, she remained spiritual and optimistic and was a constant symbol and reminder of God's love and grace. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, swimming, and watching movies and TV shows. She was a talented photographer and also took a strong interest in art, music, and animals. She loved the outdoors and would seize any opportunity to visit the beach and be near the ocean.

Becky is survived by Jeffrey Wurst, her husband of 37 years; and her son, Joshua Wurst. She is also survived by her mother, Marita Maines; father, Richard Morgan; father-in-law, Calvin Wurst; brother, Erik Morgan; sister, Mary Sturdivant; brother-in-law, Neal Wurst; and sister-in-law, Kathy Wurst.

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 12 pm at the St. Barnabas Chapel at Brevillier Village, 5416 East Lake Road, Erie, PA 16511 conducted by Rev. John Coleman. A reception will be held on the grounds immediately following the service. Arrangements were handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
