It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renee McClain, who left us on August 16, 2025, in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, at the age of 64. Born on October 10, 1960, in Selmer, TN, Renee was the beloved daughter of Dottie Teague Robinson and the late Robert Samuel Dillon.
Renee enjoyed watching hummingbirds and cardinals dance around in her yard, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life-fishing by the water, riding 4-wheelers through the hills, tending to her flower gardens, and memorable trips to Tunica, MS. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family, especially her precious grandchildren, who brought so much light into her life.
She is survived by a son, Michael Penley and wife Julie of Bethel Springs, TN; a daughter, Tiffney Penley of Bethel Springs, TN; mother, Dottie Robinson of Camden, TN; five grandchildren, Dylan Penley and wife Brianna, Zach Sheffield, Megan Penley, Zoey Penley, Rylan Penley; a great-grandchild, Kaleb Michael Penley-Bailey;
five sisters, Becky Dillon of Camden, TN, Rejetta Roach and husband David of Rienzi, MS, Jennifer Snyder and husband Matt of Southaven, MS, Donna Robinson, Demetra Robinson both of Camden, TN; three brothers, David Robinson of Camden, TN, Chad Dillon and Josh Dillon and wife Kristy all of Lawrenceburg, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her father, Renee was preceded in death by her husband, Larry "Tophog" McClain; stepfather, Billy Robinson; two sisters, Doretha Douglas, Lisa Dillon; three brothers, Elvin Dillon, Dennis Robinson, Dale Robinson.
As we remember Renee, let us celebrate her love, her laughter, and the marks she made on our hearts. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our memories.
