Richard Patrick Alexander, born on March 10, 1971, in Houston, TX, left this world on September 11, 2024, but not without leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. As a faithful servant to the Lord, Richard embodied kindness and compassion, living a life that reflected the best of humanity. With an unyielding spirit of tenderness, he never met an animal that did not gravitate to him, and he possessed the rare ability to turn strangers into friends. He moved through life with a gentle heart and a determination to assist anyone in need, becoming a steadfast beacon of hope for countless souls.
Richard shared a profound bond with his loving wife of 31 years, Jennifer Lee Alexander. Together, they crafted a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Their partnership was one forged in faith and mutual support, a true testament to the power of love.
He was a devoted father to his sons, Joseph Alexander and his wife Samantha, and Scott Janoch and his wife Samantha. Richard’s love for his family knew no bounds, and he took immense joy in their accomplishments, offering encouragement and wisdom at every turn. The laughter of his grandchildren, Jimmy, Amy, Ellie, and Shyann, resonated in his heart, filling his days with joy and pride, as he nurtured them with the same love and care he received from his own family.
Richard was also surrounded by a supportive network of siblings who were integral to his life. He is survived by his brothers, Bob Alexander and his wife MaryAnn, Charles Alexander and his wife Sherry, David Alexander and his wife Dawn, and Sandy Alexander and his wife Carol; and his sisters, Judy Alexander, Leslie Ordener and her husband Michael, Terry McAllister, Jean Bagley and her husband Dan, Peggy Dupnick and her husband David, Holly Alexander, and Nell Oviatt and her husband Jack. These family ties were connections of support, laughter, and stories that will echo in their hearts forever. Richard also had the joy of being surrounded by numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and a host of treasured friends.
Richard's life was touched by the loss of dear family members who preceded him in death, including his father, Robert McDowell Alexander, his mother, Margaret Jane Alexander, and his brother, Michael Edwin Alexander. Though they have gone from this earthly realm, their spirits remain woven into the tapestry of Richard’s life, guiding him and inspiring him.
In honor of Richard, services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crosby, TX, on Friday, September 20, 2024. The visitation will start at 10:00 AM, followed by a Rosary at 10:30 AM, and a mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crosby, TX.
As we bid farewell to Richard Patrick Alexander, we celebrate an extraordinary life dedicated to faith, love, and unwavering kindness. His absence will leave a profound void in the lives of those he touched. Richard will be remembered not just for his compassionate spirit, but for his quiet strength, his wisdom, and his relentless support of everyone he knew. He will be greatly missed, yet his legacy of love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. As Richard bids us farewell, he leaves us with his favorite quote, "Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love." - St. Teresa of Calcutta.
