Richard Benefield Obituary
Richard Frank "Richie" Benefield, 63, retired employee of Nissan and resident of Culleoka, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Centennial Medical Center.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Friendship Cemetery with Frank Zaccarelli officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Born September 29, 1959 in Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Fermon Benefield and the late Eva Laws. On February 4, 1983, he married Arlene Osborne Benefield who preceded him in death December 15, 2018. Richie enjoyed spending time with his sons, fishing, hunting, and taking his boat out on the Tennessee River. He loved to tinker around in his shop and was always ready to help fix anything. Richie took pride in his job as a Pre-Delivery Supervisor at Nissan and truly thought the world of his work family. Richie's favorite job of all was being "PawPaw". His baby girls, Paizlee and Laney, were the light of his life.
Survivors include his sons, Caleb (Courtney) Benefield of Culleoka; Wesley Benefield of Culleoka; grandchildren, Paizlee Benefield, Laney Benefield; several nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law, Lewis (Lissa) Osborne of Culleoka; Ted (Lori) Osborne of Lewisburg.
Active pallbearers will be Frank Zaccarelli, Ted Osborne, Lewis Osborne, Jerad Osborne, Brad Dawson, and James Gibson.
