Fuchs, Richard M. "Rich", beloved husband for 52 years of Karen (nee Strohofer) Fuchs. Loving father of Rick, Jr (Lynn) Fuchs, Jim (Andrea) Fuchs and Chris (Cyrus) Arnold. Cherished grandpa of Bob, Sophia, Joey, Alie, and Lizzie. Dear brother of the late Carol Fuchs and Tom Fuchs. Brother-in-law of Bob (Cherri) Strohofer and Sandy (Ralph) Gubser. Uncle of Jenn (Chris) Smith. Rich was a teacher and coach for 42 years, starting at Roger Bacon High School and later at LaSalle High School. He was a longtime member and vice-president of the Cincinnati Dry Dredgers, an association of amateur geologists and fossil collectors. Rich volunteered for many years at the Geier Center, the Cincinnati Museum Center's collections and research facility, cataloguing fossils in the Invertebrate Paleontology collection. He was proud to have contributed scolecodont micro-fossil specimens he found and prepared to the new fossil exhibit at the Cincinnati Museum Center. Rich loved golf, playing cards, and watching the Cincinnati Reds and Xavier Musketeers basketball. He passed away on April 26th at the age of 79.

I never met Richard, but he kindly answered questions about scolecodonts for me several years ago. I am very sorry he has passed, and am sorry for the loss to his family and to Dry Dredgers. I appreciated his help at the time. It's hard to lose good people.

He was a very nice person. Even though I knew very little, he never talked down or made me feel unwelcome. We'll all miss him.
