Richard Charles Grey, passed away peacefully at his home in Alamosa, Colorado, on June 1, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on July 5, 1963, in Lemoore, California, Richard's life was a testament to the joy of simple pleasures and the enduring strength of family bonds.
Richard's journey through life was shared with his loving spouse, Donna Grey, who stood by his side in Alamosa, CO. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, music, and the pitter-patter of their beloved pets. His legacy continues through his son, Ryan (Shelby) Grey of Pueblo, CO, and stepdaughter, Brittany (Eric) Salazar of Edwards, CO. Richard's joy was multiplied with the birth of his grandson, Derick Salazar of Edwards, CO, and granddaughters, Rylynn Dutton and Savannah Aragon of Pueblo, Colorado and his brother, Jack (Marie) Alan Grey of Texas. Richard was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Richard and Rosalie Leutzinger Grey, who instilled in him the values of love and family that he carried throughout his life.
An avid outdoorsman, Richard found solace and excitement in the embrace of nature. He loved fishing, where the dance of the line on the water was a source of endless fascination. Camping under the stars, hiking through the rugged trails of Colorado, and bird watching in the quiet mornings were activities that not only brought him peace but also a profound sense of connection to the world around him. Richard's musical talents were evident as he strummed his guitar, filling the home with melodies that echoed the soundtrack of his life. His love for music was only matched by the comfort he found in his favorite chair, where he would often be found, with a dog or two at his feet and his kitty Luna purring contentedly in his lap.
Richard's pets, Manga, Kona, and Lucy, were more than companions; they were part of the family, sharing in the adventures and the quiet moments that made up the fabric of his everyday life.
As we bid farewell to Richard Charles Grey, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. His memory will be a beacon for those he leaves behind, a reminder to cherish the simple moments, to embrace the beauty of nature, and to live with a heart full of love. Richard's spirit will continue to guide us, just as the stars guide the traveler, and his melodies will linger in our hearts forever.
Per Richard's wishes cremation has been chosen. Rogers Family Mortuary is in care of the arrangements. To leave online condolences, tributes and words of comfort for Richard's family please visit www.RogersFunerals.com.
