Richard "Rick" Lee Johnson, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2025, with his family at his side. He is survived by his devoted wife, Debra (nee Barnick-Nagy) and his three beloved daughters, Holly (Steve) Showalter, Natalie Johnson and Lisa (Will) Daniels, who were all at his side when God opened His arms and welcomed Rick home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ogden and Genevieve, and his brother Donald (Donny). Rick was born in Cleveland, OH, October 18, 1948, and has remained in the greater Cleveland area his entire life. After beginning a career with MTD and Cleveland Range, Rick settled in Brunswick, OH, where he raised his family with Linda (nee Kortan) and pursued his dream as an entrepreneur and started his own company, Johnson Products, Inc.
Rick finally settled into his forever home on the Ranch in Bath, OH, with his wife Debbie, and their many loyal pups: Sophie, Lacy, Molly, Murphy, Sherman, Stevie, Willie and Winslow.
Family meant everything to Rick, and he is survived by so many loved ones who will cherish their memories forever. Debbie, his beloved wife and caregiver; Linda, mother of his three daughters; Rick's grandchildren: Brandon, Liam, Drew, Zach, Alana, Jules, Briggs, Finn and Brogan, will all miss their Papa dearly. His blended family, Will, Steve, Mark, Brady, Jenny, and Chris meant the world to him, and he treated each of them as his own children.
Rick was an avid RV traveler, fixer-upper, engineer, noogie-giver, smart-aleck, joke-telling kind of guy. He always made people laugh with his silly sense of humor! His quick wittedness and his powerful presence will always be remembered by those who loved him, and to know Rick was a blessing. He was a devout Christian and was a devoted member of St. Ambrose Parish in Brunswick. Enjoy the ranch up in heaven with the pups until we meet again. Rest in peace, Rick (Papa).
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick. For those unable to attend the visitation, the family will gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025, for final prayers. Please meet at church if you were able to attend the visitation on Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m., at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick. Interment will take place at Moore's Chapel Cemetery, Bath.
