Richard L. Mattice, age 75, a cherished family man, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home in Broadalbin, NY, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 15, 1949, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late Richard Mattice and Geradine (Bradt) Mattice, who survives.
He spent his professional years as a senior designer at General Electric in Schenectady, NY. Beyond his work, Richard was known for his incredible handiness, always ready to fix anything or lend a helping hand with a smile. Richard, a true enthusiast of automobiles, loved cars and everything related to them, often spending his free time working on them or attending car shows. His warm heart and sense of humor brightened every family gathering. His happiest moments were those spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family.
He married his wife, Linda L. Mattice on June 17, 1972, they were happily married for 49 years until her passing on August 3, 2021.
Richard is survived by his children, Doug Mattice (Michelle), Karyn Polikowski (John); grandchildren, Breana, Paige, April; great grandchildren, Valentina, Gianna; sisters, Sally, Catherine, Linda, and Jerilyn; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard is predeceased by his brother, Allan Mattice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
Interment will be at a later date in the spring at Ingham Mills Cemetery.
