Richard A. Pasqualone, Sr., 94, of New Providence, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Born in Medford, MA, to Mary (Picariello) and Domenico Pasqualone, Richard spent his early years in Massachusetts and later lived in Fremont, CA, before settling in New Providence, NJ, where he lived for the past 60 years.
Richard earned his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Northeastern University and went on to enjoy a successful career as a food chemist, contributing to innovations that shaped the industry. One of his most notable achievements was his work in developing the freeze-dried technique, now widely used in food service and preservation.
Affectionately known to many as "Uncle Duck," Richard will be remembered for his sharp wit, warm heart, and deep devotion to his family and faith. A talented athlete in his youth, especially on the baseball field; Richard's true legacy lies in the love he shared and the life of faith he lived.
His relationship with his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, was the guiding force in his life. Alongside his beloved wife, Marian, Richard dedicated countless hours to ministry, leading in-home Bible studies, organizing church services at local nursing homes, and serving faithfully as an Elder at Long Hill Chapel in Chatham, where he was a longtime parishioner.
Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He treasured time with his family, especially their cherished Friday night pizza gatherings.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Marian Pasqualone, and his siblings Rita and Alana Pasqualone and Rosalie Troisi.
He is survived by his beloved children: Yvonne Milford and her husband Robert, Denise Cicchella and her husband Michael, and Richard Pasqualone, Jr., and his wife Ann Marie. He was the dear brother of Marianna Pasqualone and the cherished grandfather of Joel Cicchella (Tessa), Sarah Vormelker (Alan), Rebekah Milford, Justin Cicchella (Jodie), Richard Pasqualone, Anthony Cicchella, and Matthew Pasqualone. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Luka, Benjamin, Blake, and Samuel, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Fair Mount Cemetery in Chatham, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial.
