Richard "Rick" Louis Fowler, 73, of Cheraw, Colorado passed away on August 9, 2025, at Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on October 8, 1951 in La Junta to M.L. & Mary (Pringle) Fowler.
Rick dedicated many years of his life to the printing industry. He worked and operated the family printing business in La Junta for many years. His work not only showcased his professionalism but also reflected the values he held dear—commitment and attention to detail.
An alumnus of Otero College, Rick held an associate's degree that helped him throughout his career. He was also proud to serve in the National Guard, demonstrating his dedication to his country.
Rick was one of the founding members of the La Junta Raceway, where he remained actively involved in its events. His passion for automobiles extended beyond the racetrack; he enjoyed restoring cars, often relishing the technical challenges they presented. His interest in cars was matched by his love for travel, particularly his cherished trips to Hawaii, where he found joy in exploring new landscapes.
Family was at the heart of Rick's life. He cherished holiday gatherings and was a steadfast supporter at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. His presence at pep rallies underlined his commitment to nurturing a family spirit, and he always brought his signature sense of humor with him, making every occasion special.
Rick will be remembered not only for his numerous contributions but also for the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
Rick is survived by his children, Stephany (Luke Holland) Wilson of Cheraw, CO; Josh Fowler of La Junta, CO; grandchildren, Keaton (Alexa Laird) Wilson, Kaiden Holland, Kamdyn Holland, Kain Holland, Jordan (James) Eggert, and Cira Fowler; great-grandchildren, Holland Wilson and Dakota Eggert; brother Bob (Diane) Fowler of La Junta, CO; 1 nephew & 3 nieces also survive.
