EAST LIVERPOOL – Richard L. Swoger, of East Liverpool, passed away suddenly Monday, November 10, 2025. He was 72 years old.
Born in East Liverpool, August 12, 1953, he was a son of the late Carl and Mae Nicholson Swoger. A lifetime area resident, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1973. He worked at Crucible Steel and later Northstar Steel until starting his own business, Swoger's Quick Lube in East End. Rick was a member of the Masonic Lodge at one time, as well as the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anne-Lynn Sylvies Swoger, whom he married August 23, 1974. He will also be remembered by his daughter, Lindsey Dorn and her husband, Patrick, of East Liverpool, and his two grandchildren, Evan and Madelyn Dorn who he adored, and a nephew, Ernie "RJ" Wiseman, who he considered a son. There are also many nieces and nephews also surviving.
Rick was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Wiseman and Louann Schilling and a brother, James P. "Jim" Swoger.
Rev. Rick Dawson will conduct a funeral service on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home where friends may visit two hours prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the East Liverpool Band Boosters, P.O. Box 2952, East Liverpool, Ohio.
