Richard A. Weiss, 98, passed away on June 30, 2024, surrounded by his family. He is joining his late wife, Julia and his late daughter Nancy Nelson.
He was a beloved father to his children, Tim (Susan), James (Lorelei), Mary (David) and Laurie (Thomas). He was a cherished grandfather of Robert, Staci, Stefanie, Justin, Mike, Andy, Jaimie and Patrick, great-grandfather of 11, and Father-in-law of Robert Nelson. He also leaves behind his special lady-friend, Susan Fischer.
Dick was charming, personable and always ready with a smile and a hug for his family and friends. He enlisted in the Navy while still in high school, serving honorably in the Navy's Pacific Theater in World War II. Dick worked for Ford Motor Company as Supervisor of Salaried Personnel and later as a consultant. He was also a long-time active member of the congregation of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he sang in the choir and was a lector at mass. Dick was active in Shurmer Place Council Activities and volunteered at Southwest General Hospice. He loved to dance, fish and always had a joke ready to tell.
A public visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, Ohio 44129.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 6750 State Rd., Parma, Ohio 44134. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Rd., Brook Park, Ohio 44142.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice, 18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, Ohio 44136.
