Lisa Skidmore Obituary
Lisa made her journey to be with her heavenly family on August 16, 2025. She fought a heroic and brave battle against her disease.
She was born in Findlay, Ohio to Edwin and Charlotte Skidmore. Lisa grew up in Dunkirk, Ohio and attended Hardin Northern School and then Bowling Green State University with a Business Major.
The vast majority of Lisa's work career was with Wurth Industrial located in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked as a Sourcing Specialist and a Purchasing Agent dealing with nuts, bolts, and screws along with preparing many spreadsheets. A high-lighted feature was a trip to Germany where she got to meet the company's owner.
Lisa is survived by her mother Charlotte Skidmore; her loving boyfriend Larry Mathes; her aunts Judy (Jim) Worstein-Dieter and Rita Skidmore; her cousin Daniel Worstein, Camden and Karissa Worstein, Adam Shope, Trevor and Taegan Shope, Krista (Jason) Gibson and Gabe Gibson, Eric (Cynthia) Wills, Doug (Michelle) Wills, Bobby (Scott) Gill, and many long-time friends from the Dunkirk and Cleveland area.
Preceding Lisa to heaven were her cherished father Edwin Skidmore, her beloved brother Mike Skidmore, grandparents James and Martha Skidmore, Paul and Burneda Worstein, her uncles David Worstein and Clifford Worstein, and her cousin Cindy Worstein Shope.
Lisa's boyfriend Larry Mathes was devoted to Lisa. With Larry she found happiness beyond words. Larry introduced her to the outdoors exploring Cleveland's many Metro-Parks watching the wildlife. Lisa's entire family will always be forever grateful to Larry.
Lisa loved cats and kittens. She worked with the Lyndhurst based foster group Viva Los Gatos, a cat rescuing service. Serving as a foster mom for ten years to many kittens gave her a great purpose and pleasure in life. Her favorite cats were Jasper and Jasmine.
Lisa was positive, gentle soul that brought to this world good energy. She gave up vacation time to be traveling partner to her mother, so mom didn't have to travel alone. She had Facebook friends from all over the world that loved cats. She fixed care packages at Christmas time for many of them. She cared for her brother as he battled a serious illness.
Lisa was loved by so many people and will be remembered as a kind and caring person. Her life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
Lisa's family would like to thank the Cleveland Clinic for their care and support she received during her illness.
Lisa has requested no flowers from her family or friends. If you like, a donation in Lisa's honor can be made to The Cleveland Animal Protective League.
Since Lisa didn't enjoy wearing "stuffy" dress clothes, please wear your favorite casual outfit.
The family will receive friends for a Memorial Gathering at the Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma from 4:00 pm until the time of Service at 6:00 pm, Saturday, August 23, 2025. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
Goodbye my Darling Daughter, you will always be remembered with all my heart and soul. I love you. Rest in Peace.
Sincerly,
Mom
