Richard “Bud” White, age 90, passed away on April 28, 2025, in his home in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. He was born in Clairton, Pennsylvania on February 9, 1935, 1 of 2 sons of the late James and Mary (Donnelly) White.
He graduated from Clairton High School in 1953 and served in the US Navy during the peace time between the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Bud was an airline mechanic who received his training at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania and then worked 34 years during the 1970’s through the early 2000’s for US Air.
Richard was the beloved husband of 65 years to the late Janice Eileen (Pickering) White, who passed away on August 26, 2024; He is survived by their son, Richard Arthur White, Jr. of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and daughter, Lori (Brian) White Kincak of Baldwin Borough in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Richard (Anna) Arthur White, III, Martin White, Carissa (Fiance’ Zachary) Brunazzi and Sydney Stromberg; great grandchildren, Anson Brunazzi, Ellison Brunazzi, Peyton Heisler, Parker Heisler, and Richard Arthur White, IV. He is the brother-in-law of Patricia Reynolds, Paula Schmitt, and Leonard (Diane) Pickering. Bud’s only brother, James White preceded him in death.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the funeral home. His burial, with Military Honors, will be at 11 AM in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.
