Richard James Woznicki

Richard James Woznicki, 81, of Girard died at home surrounded by his family Friday, February 18, 2022.
He was born in Erie October 11, 1940 a son of Nicholas J. and Helen Zamieroski Woznicki, Sr. He married Dorothy Gwen Schell June 22, 1963 and she survives.
He was a 1959 graduate of Harborcreek High School. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his military service he worked first as a truck driver for Seaway Aluminum then for 42 years at Kaiser Aluminum in the Maintenance, Shipping and Inspection departments.
He was a member of St. Boniface Church. He enjoyed maintaining his house and working in his yard with his wife, Gwen. He also enjoyed sports, snowmobiling, antique automobiles and he was an avid Steeler fan. He loved spending time with his family (including the numerous pets that captured his heart throughout his life), friends and especially his ice cream dates with his granddaughter, Sidney.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Gwen of 58 years, include: two children, Richard M. Woznicki (Charlotte) of Hartselle, AL and Pamela R. Woznicki of Girard; a granddaughter, Sidney Woznicki; a sister, Marcia Krisch of Lawrence Park; a brother, Nicholas J. Woznicki, Jr. of Harborcreek, several nieces and nephews and his grand dog, Takoda.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome and Mark Woznicki.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, 9367 Wattsburg Road, Erie. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Marc Stockton, Celebrant. Military honors will follow the service.
