Rick Dornink Obituary

Rick graduated from Dakota High School Class of 1981. He received his Bachelors of Education and Masters of Education from Western Illinois University. Rick was previously married to Tammy Wichman and they shared two wonderful children together.
Rick was employed by Rochelle District as a Primary School Teacher as well as being Vice Principal. He had previously worked for the Pecatonica School District as a Primary Teacher. Rick spent many years coaching softball and basketball for various schools during his career. He was also the head coach of the Rock Valley Women's Basketball team where the team was only one game away from going to Nationals in the 1990's. Rick enjoyed playing fast pitch softball for many years.
Survivors include: son Brock Dornink; daughter Brynn Dornink; brother Mike (Kim) Dornink and their children Ryan, Matthew (Mimi), and Joshua; Lynette Dornink and her son Tyler (Shaa), and long time special friend Beth Hahn. Rick is predeceased by his parents and brother Jeff Dornink.
A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, 1301 Jackson St, Pecatonica, Illinois with Pastor Allman officiating. A visitation will be held at the Church from 10:30 a.m. until time of ceremony, Tuesday. Private Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica, Illinois.
